New Year, New Programs
Starting in March, I will be opening up my schedule for TWO (2) monthly, individual musical mentorship sessions. High-school only.
These sessions are open to brass and woodwind players (more mentors are on their way for other instruments!) in Rapid City, and will cover foundational theory and fundamental harmony, listening, transcribing, rhythm, melody, performance techniques, and improvisation.
These sessions are once-per-month, 2 hours long, and will be free to these students. The sessions will last for six months. Priority given to students that are currently enrolled in the Rapid City Area School District.
Location of sessions are TBD, and will be accessible by Rapid Transit.
Requirements are:
– A basic handling and understanding of the instrument
– Minimum 2.6GPA and proven record of attending all classes (illness or excused absence is OK
– A 100-word essay on why the student wants to “level up”
Applications due by February 21st, and can be sent to alex@improvisearts.org
Share with your friends and family that have high school instrumentalists!
