about the fat trio
The Fat Trio is an ever-changing, jazz-fusion-funk-cinematic musical machine. Conceptualized as a vehicle to promote collaboration, improvisation, and spontaneous composition, the group has had several different iterations over the past 15 years, in 7 different cities, with over 300 collaborators. Currently, The Fat Trio is based out of Rapid City, South Dakota, and the lineup is filled out by some of the hardest hitting cats that the great plains and Black Hills has to offer. With drummer Kaleb Britton, saxophonist Sivan Hoch, bassist Alex Diaz, guitarist Tanner Johns, and bandleader/trumpeter Alex Massa, The Fat Trio recorded and released its debut album “Dancing With Trolls” in late 2023.
